ECS eJIFFYASUS was the first company to offer a Linux-based operating system
with its mainboards and notebooks. It is called Express Gate and comes
preinstalled in a flash memory chip on some ASUS mainboards. We’ve seen a
similar system from MSI, called Winki, and now we can take a look at
ECS eJIFFY. It requires installation. If you enable eJIFFY in the
mainboard’s BIOS, you will be asked whether you want to boot up the main
OS or ECS eJIFFY or enter the BIOS, each time you start your computer
up. If you don’t answer anything, the main OS is booted up.
