Burn ISO windows shows the setting to burn ISO and CD/DVD image file to CD-R,CD-RW, DVD-R,DVD-RW,DVD+R and DVD+RW.

"Destination CD-R/RW Driver": Lists all of available CD recording driver in system.
"CD Image File": Choose ISO file to burn. MagicISO can also burn BIN files.
"CD-R/RW Write Speed": Choose speed of burning.
"Mode 1" : Burn ISO image in Mode 1 format.
"Mode 2/XA": Burn ISO image file in Mode 2/XA format.
"Test Writing": If check this option, MagicISO will simulate writing ISO file to CD for detecting error.
"Burn Proof": Verify data after writing. (Must be supported you CD-R/RW recorder)
Status Text: Shows status of current CD-R/RW recorder. If status text is show in blue color, the CD-R/RW is ready for burning.
"Erase": Click "Erase" button to bland CD-RW or DVD-RW disc.Notes.
"Burn It!": Click "Burn it!" button to start "burning CD" progress.

Click button to show this dialog.
Choose your CD/DVD Writer.
Insert CD recordable disc to driver.
if writable disc is not blank, Please click Erase button to blank CD.
Choose ISO file or CD/DVD image file that you want to burn.
Choose CD or DVD Writing Speed.
Choose which mode to burn CD. you can choose Mode 1 or Mode 2/XA
Check optional "Test Writer" and "Burn Proof"
Click "Burn It!" button to process.

　Guide to burn files and folders to CD and DVD on-the-fly

First, Insert an empty CD or DVD into your recorder.
Start new compilation by clicking on the Menu "File"->"New"->"Data CD/DVD Image".
Click to set the properties of data CD/DVD image.

In the "File/Directory names length" section, you can specify the ISO level for the length of the names. ISO Level 1 means that the names cannot be more than 11 characters long for DOS and Windows 3.1(8 for the name and 3 for the extension). ISO Level 2 means that the names can be up to 31 characters long for Windows 95 and higher. ISO Level 2 will be best in most cases - if you know that CD must also be readable on DOS or Windows 3.1 system then you should select ISO level 1. ISO 9660:1999 v2 means that the names can be up to 207 characters long for some Linux and Unix system.

In the "CD File System" Section, you can specify which CD File system for the data CD. ISO-9660 is a standard CD-ROM file system that allows you to read the same CD-ROM whether you are on the PC UNIX Linunx Mac or other major computer. Joliet is an extension of the ISO 9660 standard, developed by Microsoft to allow CD and DVD to be recorded using long filenames, and using the Unicode international character set. Joliet allows you to use filenames up to 64 characters in length, including space. Rock Ridge is an extension of the ISO 9660 file system designed to support Unix file system information (such as longer filenames and deeper directory structures). Apple HFS/HFS+ is the "Hierarchical File system", the native volume format used on modern Macintosh computers. with HFS/HFS+ volume format, CD and DVD can be readable on Mac OS. UDF (Universal Disk Format) is a file system developed by OSTA. With UDF volume format, data can be written to a CD or DVD in the same way as to a hard disk or floppy disk.

Once you have selected your settings, Click Ok to apply.
Change the root name you can give your CD or DVD and overtype the default name. you can use letter A-Z, digits 0-9 and the underscore character(_).
If File Browser Panel is not open yet, you can open it by clicking button.
Add files and folders for the CD and DVD using Drag&Drop editing by simply clicking on the required files in the file browser and dragging them into the compilation panel.

You also can select files and folders in the file browser and add files and folders for the CD and DVD by clicking button.

When adding directories, the directory structure is moved across too, i.e. if you drag an entire folder into the compilation panel, the folder will be created on the CD you wish to burn.

If you drag a lot of individual files however this may affect the clarity of the CD's contents. To avoid this you can create new folders within the compilation panel by clicking button. The folder you have just created is assigned the name "New Folder" by default and can be renamed immediately.

DoISO

I (ebswift) released DoISO today (13-11-2005) as GPL open source

It is simply a wrapper to mkisofs which is a powerful (but complicated to use) commandline utility. This GUI makes it easy for anyone of any skill level to make an ISO seemingly of any size.

Although it's currently at alpha 1, it works quite well. I'll keep adding properties for all the features of mkisofs so that it will evolve into a fairly sophisticated ISO management program. I have no need for such sophistication, but there's no sense in ignoring all the advanced features of mkisofs.

I made the utility because I couldn't find a free utility which could make a DVD-sized ISO from a filesystem. Someone will probably point out software that I wasn't able to find, but it's too late now, DoISO is gpl'd and at least it exists as an option

DoISO is a simple GPL'd, free ISO creation frontend for mkisofs, the ultimate ISO creating utility. One day I wanted to make a DVD-sized ISO but found that my previously trusty ISO utilities would only go to CD size. mkisofs was the only utility available, and it required reading the manual every time I wanted to make an ISO, so in reality there was no such thing as making a quick ISO.

I decided enough was enough, I had to have a reliable GUI for making any size ISO that I wanted, so I went back to some old commandline wrapping code I had used in another project (Mike Mayer's process launch code) and simply wrapped mkisofs.

DOISO has all the basics required for creating ISO's of any size that will automatically burn to DVD or CD. For creating an ISO of a DVD video filesystem it utilizes mkisofs's ability to generate a DVD Video filesystem that once burned, will play in any standard DVD player.

Using the capabilities of mkisofs you can also generate bootable cd's/dvd's, automatically combine duplicate binaries (they still list in their original locations) to save space, as well as many less commonly used specialised formats.

Basic burning ability was introduced utilizing the Windows 2003 Resource Kit. This allows you to 'burn on complete' after creating an ISO. There is support for pre-erasing rewritable CD's/DVD's.

Now that netbooks without floppy/CD/DVD drives are so popular it's important to be able to boot from USB sticks. In the past I've had a few minor problems with Grub4DOS 0.4.2 and 0.4.3 but 0.4.4 2008-11-19 seems much better.

The mapping of ISO images to (hd32) is a powerful facility that I've tested with both an Acronis Trueimage 9 Recovery CD and the Ultimate Boot CD 4.1.1 without any problems whatsoever. The essential code fragment is simply

and a similar set of commands for Acronis. Alternatively the following code works equally well.

Of course it's possible that there could still be hidden problems which my (limited) testing hasn't revealed, but I'm using 4 different sticks ranging in size from 512mb to 4gb, all formatted as FAT32 with the HP USB Disk Storage Format Tool based on DOS 7.10 system files (ie the Windows 98SE ones). They also boot XP, Vista, Ubuntu, BartPE, and DOS itself for using Partition Magic outside of Windows. So far I've yet to find anything that Grub4DOS can't boot, but a serious weak spot has always been its documentation. In this respect Diddy's recent tutorial is a very welcome arrival.

With the recent newish builds, the INITRD command does not accept command-line switches any longer. You will have to write it this way:

If it's not there, open the program and tools->recovery media builder and make it.

I renamed the ISO to hdmanager.iso, copy it wherever you want. Menu.lst for it:

img image to iso standard image converters

convertir a imagen ISO una imagen de CD que se encuentra en formato IMG (son cuatro archivos del mismo nombre, pero con distinta extensión, .img, .sub, .ccd, y .cue).
En MS Windows es posible hacerlo con WinISO, CloneCD, ISOBuster, DaemonTools

Más fácil aún... resulta que MountISO hace uso de CCD2ISO, así que en realidad nos basta con ese pequeño programa, que utilizaremos desde la consola de comandos.
Para ello nos descargamos el archivo en formato tar.gz, lo descomprimimos, y ejecutamos lo siguiente:
./configure
make
make install
El uso a nivel de comandos es muy sencillo:

Para convertir imágenes NRG a ISO: usar NRG2ISO
convertir a ISO las imágenes en formato MDF (de Alcohol120%) mediante MDF2ISO.
Convertir imagen de formato .BIN (con su correspondiente .CUE) a formato ISO: Aquí descargar BIN2ISO ya compilado para usarlo en GNU/Linux. Descomprimir el paquete y mover el archivo "bin2iso" al directorio /usr/bin de l sistema, dar permisos de ejecución, y listo, ya puedes convertir tus imágenes .BIN en .ISO tecleando bin2iso imagen.bin.

ISO image Software

ISO image is an archive file(also known as a disc image) of an optical disc in a format defined by theInternational Organization for Standardization (ISO). This format is supported by many software vendors. ISO image files typically have a file extension of .iso. The name ISO is taken from the ISO 9660 file system used with CD-ROM media, but an ISO image can also contain a UDF file system since UDF is backward-compatible with ISO 9660.
Format
As with any other archive, an ISO image includes all the data of files contained on the archived CD/DVD, or any other disc format. They are stored in an uncompressed format. In addition to data of the files it also contains all the file system metadata, including boot code, structures, and attributes. ISO images do not support multi-track, thus they cannot be used for audio CDs, VCD, and hybrid audio CDs, which are usually ripped as audio files. However, for disks that contain a single track of data followed by tracks of audio, such as video game disks, the first track can be ripped as an ISO, and the rest as audio files.
These properties make it an attractive alternative to physical media for the distribution of software as it is simple to transfer over the Internet or via a LAN connection.
A valid ISO image is an uncompressed collection of various files merged into one single resulting file, according to definite and standard formatting.
The most important feature of an ISO image is that it can be easily rendered or "burned" to a DVD or CD by using media "authoring" or disc "burning" software. It can also be opened using archival applications such as 7-Zip file manager or the WinRAR shareware archiver. ISO burning is now typically a native feature of modern home and business computer operating systems.
Hybrid formats include the ability to be read by different devices, operating systems, or hardware. In the past, one example of this was a disc that supported both Windows and Macintosh from one image. One recent example is the release of hybrid ISO files which can be "booted" or started from both CD/DVD and USB flash drive devices when the image is written to either of these storage devices.

WinImage is a disk imaging application for Microsoft Windows created by Gilles Vollant Software. Its features include creating, reading and editing disk images and also opening VMware & Microsoft Virtual PC hard disk images. WinImage is able to mount an ISO image using the freeware FileDisk driver.

neISO is a free software program to mount and manage image files. Its goals are to be simple, intuitive and stable. Written in Qt 4, this software is meant for all those people looking for a sort of Daemon Tools for Linux. However, AcetoneISO does not emulate any copy protection while mounting. AcetoneISO also supports Direct Access Archive (*.daa) images because it uses PowerISO Linux software as backend while converting images to ISO.

It is free software released under the terms of the GNU General Public License version 3.

Limitations

Does not emulate copy protection mount like Daemon Tools.
Can't mount correctly a multi-sector image. Only the first track will be shown.
Converting a multi-track image to ISO will result in a loss of data. Only first track will be converted.
Image conversion to ISO is only possible on x86 and x86-64 CPU architecture due to PowerISOlimitations.

PowerISO is an application used to create, open,mount / emulate, compress, encrypt, and otherwise manipulate CD / DVD image files. It is most commonly known for its proprietary DAA disc image format. Other supported formats include ISO, BIN,NRG, and CDI. PowerISO is able to modify all supported CD images formats, most notably ISO. The trial version cannot create or edit images greater than 300 megabytes, but can burn files of any size to disc. The maximum file size PowerISO can process is 256GB.^[2]Official PowerISO website

Why buy alcohol or Daemon Tools?
Alcohol and Daemon Tools are excellent software packages that allow users to mount ISO files as virtual CD-ROMs. Yes, there is a way to use that ISO without burning it to a disk.
Although I love these tools, Microsoft has a free, 60kb program that does the same thing! Of course, it is not supported… and it’s not as friendly as the software listed above; however, it works and it’s free.

2. Execute VCdControlTool.exe
3. Click “Driver control”
4. If the “Install Driver” button is available, click it. Navigate to the %systemroot%\system32\drivers folder, select VCdRom.sys, and click Open.
5. Click “Start”
6. Click OK
7. Click “Add Drive” to add a drive to the drive list. Ensure that the drive added is not a local drive. If it is, continue to click “Add Drive” until an unused drive letter is available.
8. Select an unused drive letter from the drive list and click “Mount”.
9. Navigate to the image file, select it, and click “OK”. UNC naming conventions should not be used, however mapped network drives should be OK.
You may now use the drive letter as if it were a local CD-ROM device. When you are finished you may unmount, stop, and remove the driver from memory using the driver control.

Now you need to copy the file named VCdRomto the C://WINDOWS/System32/driversfolder, then run the VCdControlTool(by run i mean double click), then click Driver Control. then Install. Now navigate toC://WINDOWS/System32/drivers
again and select VCdRom.sys and clickOK. Now click Start. Next clickOK; and finall click Add Drive. This should create a virtual drive in the window above the buttons. ClickMountand navigate to where your ISO's are stored to mount the image to the virtual drive.

Some game applications ask for me to put the original CD in the drive. What can I do to avoid this? These games normally install on this OS
Here is the order in which I started...
- Build ISO file (btw is it okay-stable to have them in root c:\?
- mount drive and point to ISO
- install program from virtual drive
- test which icon will start the program
1. I have only successfully mounted 4/10 games. For the 1st two, I had installed them from the original CD in the drive and then made and mounted ISOs; then i thought of the bright idea to install them FROM the ISO in the first place and that worked also... BUT ONLY for 4/10...FYI
2. Can I rename the drive to reflect what the program is instead of "CD Drive"? How do I do this?
3. I realize this is a freebie s/w and I have successfully mounted 4/10 cds, but is there one out there for purchase that WILL do the things I have questions about?
