Anybody who thinks they've run a Windows machine regularly for a year or more and hasn't ever gotten any malware is simply dead wrong - they haven't looked for it.
I challenge anybody with a Windows machine that been running a year or more malware-free to go to www.safer-networking.org/ and download, install, and run Spybot Search & Destroy.
I absolutely guarantee that if you've been using that box regularly for internet access, you'll find a whole slew of junk installed on it that you had no idea was there.
