I edited the registry to enable the driver. Rebooted, catching the BIOS screen to change to AHCI. BAM! It is running using AHCI now.

I installed with IDE. Found a registry setting that allows you to switch to AHCI mode after installing HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\msahci\Start needs to be 0 for AHCI to be active
