Accessing the FRITZ!Box User Interface at Any Time via a LAN Connection
The FRITZ!Box is equipped with a fixed IP address that cannot be changed. With this IP address the FRITZ!Box user interface is always accessible over a LAN connection.
Use the Fixed FRITZ!Box IP address:
169.254.1.1
[In case of connection problems:
Use a second network card with a different last octet in the same network segment
 (e.g. 169.254.1.2)]
Proceed as follows:
Connect the computer from which you would like to open the user interface to the FRITZ!Box using a network cable. Make sure that the computer is not already connected with FRITZ!Box by some other means.
Restart your computer.
Start a web browser on the computer.
In the address field of the browser, enter the IP address "169.254.1.1" to open the FRITZ!Box user interface.
Check the IP settings in your FRITZ!Box. If necessary, correct the IP settings so that the user interface can be reached by entering the FRITZ!Box IP address or "fritz.box".
User manual The FRITZ!Box user manual includes a detailed description of the IP settings in the different Windows operating systems and for the operating systems Mac OS X and Linux.

I can't get to fritz.box to try to sort it or restore defaults or something... or is there a reset button????
HELP!!!!
You can dial following codes with a phone connected to the FritzBox!
#990*15901590* for only reboot.
#991*15901590* for reset to factory default.
#99** for reset of all VoIP settings.
-------------------
I'm thinking if you can't connect to http://fritz.box then you have a static IP address on your PC or somehow otherwise your PC is not on the same subnet as your router.
If you have accidently changed the IP settings of your FritzBox, and/or turned DHCP off, you will of course not be able to connect to http://fritz.box or 192.168.178.1
In such case, the FritzBox can still be reached on one of the folowing fixed IP adresses:
  • 192.168.178.254
you will need to (temporary) set a fixed IP on your PC in the same subnet (e.g 192.168.178.250)
  • 169.254.1.1
if your PC has not found a DHCP server, your network card may have been allocated an IP in the 169.254.x.x range
