The final version of Windows 7 has hit the roads and users which had tested Windows 7 beta get disappointed: It is no longer possible to change MUIs, display language of Win 7, anymore – it seems.

First of all, changing display language (“installing MUI”) has been a feature limited to Ultimate and Enterprise versions. The beta was “Ultimate”, therefore changing was neat and easy possibly through the regions screen.

For all other versions you will have to get the appropriate “lp.cab”, i.e. from the Language Pack DVD. Then, type this in a command prompt as Administrator (change path and language code appropriately):

2.bcdedit /set {current} locale de-DE

3.bcdboot %WinDir% /l de-DE

After that, remove the registry folderHKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\MUI\UILanguages\en-US

Firstly, empty the Temporary Internet files and %Temp% folder.

Secondly,  run sfc /scannow to scan the whole system files.

At last, re-install the language pack again.

Will ich diese Updates nun installieren,quittiert das mein Vista mit der Meldung:Fehlgeschlagen Fehlercode 80070002

Daraufhin habe ich im Ordner C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution den Inhalt der Unterordner "DataStore" und "Download" gelöscht.
Das interessiert Vista aber auch nicht wirklich,diese 3 Updates lassen sich nicht installieren.Immer die gleiche Meldung wie oben bereits erwähnt.

Im Prinzip ärgere ich mich nicht über so einen Schmarrn,aber gerade diese 3 Updates sind schon sehr Sicherheitsrelevant.

Das "Windows Features" Dialogfeld ist in Windows Vista leer oder es wird eine Fehlermeldung angezeigt, die den folgenden Code enthält, wenn Sie versuchen, Windows Update "0x80073712" zu verwendenund achte immer auf die genaue Schreibweise Registrierungeintrag löschen: 
reg delete HKLM\COMPONENTS /v StoreDirty /f

5. in nem forum stand das das problem an nem update von windows liegt, ich kann nur leider irgendwie keine updates deinstallieren
6. in nem anderen forum wurd mir gesagt ich soll ne datei namens "pending.xml" löschen und dann neu starten, der zugriff auf die datei wird mir leider verweigert

Hinweis Nach dem Ausführen des Tools wird die Datei "Checksur.log" im folgenden Verzeichnis gespeichert: %systemroot%\Logs\CBS

In einer Standardinstallation von Windows ist "%systemroot%" das Windows-Verzeichnis.

Fahren Sie mit Methode 2 fort, falls das Problem durch diese Methode nicht behoben wird.

Methode 2: Ausführen einer Reparaturinstallation von Windows

Wenn Methode 1 das Problem nicht behebt, müssen Sie eine Reparaturinstallation von Windows Vista, Windows Server 2008, Windows 7 bzw. Windows Server 2008 R2 ausführen. Durch das Ausführen einer Reparaturinstallation wird die aktuelle Windows-Installation auf die Version der Installations-DVD zurückgesetzt. Dies erfordert auch die Installation aller Updates, die nicht auf der Installations-DVD enthalten sind.

Hinweis Durch das Ausführen einer Reparaturinstallation werden keine derzeit auf dem Computer installierten Dateien oder Anwendungen beschädigt.
Zum Ausführen einer Reparaturinstallation von Windows Vista, Windows Server 2008, Windows 7 oder Windows Server 2008 R2 gehen Sie folgendermaßen vor:

1. Schließen Sie alle Anwendungen, und starten Sie den Computer dann neu.

The Solution

As I suspected, the multi boot environment had caused the problem. One of the other OSs installed on my PC had taken over Window's 200MB system partition, which prevented the installation of the language pack.

I used "bcdboot.exe /s" to map the system partition to c:\, marked the Windows partition as active and after a reboot I was able to install the language pack successfully.
Solution

Take ownership of your system drive and grant yourself full permision. Retry.

The crash error happens while installing the english entries for the boot loader.

please stop the Windows-Update service and rename the folder C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution\ toC:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution_old , start the service again.

Now run System Update Readiness Tool for Windows 7 (KB947821) [April 2010] and go to the folder C:\Windows\Logs\CBS and open the file checkSUR.log . Was the tool able to fix all errors? If, yes try it again, if not, post the errors from the checkSUR.log here.

For your second question, the WIndowsUpdate.log contais the link to the exe of the MUI:

Solution

Did you attempt to download the update from within Windows Vista or from the Windows Update website?

The error codes mentioned above are generic errors that basically state that an error was encountered by Windows Installer. To troubleshoot these errors, you have to enable logging for two processes, and then try to install the updates again. When you enable logging, the actual error codes that are generated by Windows Installer are captured. As soon as the error codes are captured, you can determine the actual issue and the resolution for that issue. These errors will require you to contact Microsoft Support to resolve the issue.
